Great News! Twins 'refuse to be intimidated'--Star-Tribune Blog
So far I've seen no 'intimidation,' just the Yankees anxiously giving away the crown jewels of its franchise as per "demands" of the Twins, for the chance to allow yet another mercenary to cash in-- making Tom Hicks look like a piker. The Yankees and their fans don't need another albatross, they need Phil Hughes and Melky, and they need to get a backbone and stop fluttering about what the Red Sox might do.
- We read the Twins refuse to be intimidated--FINALLY SOME GOOD NEWS!!! TWINS, DO THAT, GET MAD, KEEP SANTANA. HE'S BEEN HAPPY IN MINNESOTA, LET HIM STAY THERE. From Around the Majors, Minneapolis Star-Tribune blog (appears to be by Joe Christensen):
"But the Twins refuse to be intimidated. From La Velle’s insider:
- (Star-Tribune, continuing): The source said the Twins have made their demands clear to the Red Sox, Yankees and other clubs interested in Santana and they will not compromise. They are willing to risk trying to deal Santana in July, when the return could be less, or even risk watching him walk away as a free agent after the season, with only draft picks as compensation."
