A new term MLB got in the 'roid era: "Domestic" Season Opener

The newest money maker with all the multi-national corporate tie-ins in the 'roid era has been the World Baseball Classic and international play. Try flying around the world and see if you function the same. The headline from an AP story says it all today: Players no longer have a "season opener"but a "Domestic Season Opener" as a result of the money-driven 'roid era. Their flesh is being knocked around the world willy nilly and no one dares object. Then, check out the first sentence of the article: Get it? THERE'S NO LONGER THE FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON, IT'S THE FIRST "WESTERN HEMISPHERE" GAME OF THE SEASON.
  • If you're going to stop 'roids/PED's etc., you have to cut back on the ridiculous schedules overtaxing players to begin with-not add to them.
(These are actual words from the AP--I didn't make them up). sm
