How to get ahead in baseball media: Bash the Yankees

You'd never know it, but Roger Clemens is the only one on the Yankee "Championship Teams" alleged to have any steroid or PED activity during those years. Mainly a xerox report of a New York based clubhouse operative, THIS CONVERSATION SHOULD NOT EVEN BE TAKING PLACE. THERE IS NO REAL MITCHELL REPORT OUTSIDE RADOMSKI/MCNAMEE which naturally relieves many others of the limelight.
  • But EVEN USING THAT REPORT, CLEMENS IS THE ONLY ONE WHO MADE THE LIST DURING THE CHAMPIONSHIP YEARS. Most baseball media guys know outrageous and sometimes libelous comments about the Yankees make other media guys like them better and increase their income opportunities at ESPN. And the Yankees apparently never sue anybody.
  • This statement in the Hartford Courant just echoes what hungry types at the NY Post, NY Daily News and others have offered:
"The linking of numerous former Yankees to performance enhancing drugs has raised questions about the last of their World Series championship teams, including 2000, the year Brian McNamee joined the team as assistant strength and conditioning coach." (I love it when they say certain things "have raised questions..." You can say that about anything). sm
