Move over Trevor Hoffman---Joe Borowski Hall of Fame Bound?

Joe Borowski is now written up in the NY Times--they must've heard Buck Martinez, Jon Miller, Tom Hamilton, Terry Pluto, and the entire ESPN/MLB flotilla. (The NY Times doesn't start out with the homerun he gave up that night, but no one seems to care about his homeruns. What about tie games?..)

• "Like Borowski, there were countless observers wondering whether Wedge would prefer Betancourt, who is younger and more uncomfortable for batters to face because of a sizzling fastball and a deceptive delivery. Betancourt was 5-1 with a 1.47 earned run average, striking out 80 and walking only nine in 79 and one-third innings.

While Borowski had a league-high 45 saves, he also paced the A.L. with 8 blown saves and had a bloated 5.07 E.R.A.
