BP's Will Carroll on with Jeff Erickson re injuries

Interesting about Roy Oswalt--Jeff asks about his previous hamstring injury & if that 'cascaded' (Will's term) into his current back problem, & Will believes it does. The first injury forces the pitcher to change his mechanics, which leads to the 2nd injury. Notes a 'strain' or tear is worse than a 'spasm.' Naturally, the current oblique injury to Pujols is disturbing, & both note it should be considered more of a 6 week recovery time than 2 or 3 weeks many would hope. Big changes need to be made in how pitchers are handled, bought & sold if we're to have enough to keep 30 teams going through the regular season not to mention the grueling post-season.
