Rob Liebowitz with Jeff Erickson on Fantasy Focus on XM
Rob & Jeff discuss recent competitive auctions--sounds like you should take your
vitamins & sharpen your reflexes for these things. Rob says next time when he's closed
out of players he needs, he'll load up on good hitters. His site mastersball.com has
now become fantasyball.com. Jeff discusses the Wily Mo Pena for Bronson Arroyo trade--
most would've hoped Wily Mo could be an everyday player somewhere, but Boston may not
be it. He says Arroyo isn't bad, but will need to keep the ball on the ground in Great
American ballpark. Also mentions LHP Matt Thornton goes from the Mariners to the White Sox
for Joe Borchard, a one-time big prospect.

Small correction:
Thornton went to the White Sox, for Joe Borchard (once a big-time prospect).
Thanks, as always for listening and blogging.

Thanks very much, Jeff. I don't know
how I got that, except maybe I was
thinking about you getting Bronson
Arroyo & a bit delusional as I was
very happy he's gone from the AL East--altho I know you weren't thrilled about the news.

Re Arroyo: Like the idea of trading Pena for pitching help (especially when that means we don't trade Dunn or Kearns), not sure about the execution. Arroyo's strikeout rate dropped pretty badly last year, especially over the second half, and he wasn't having a good spring. He gives up a lot of flyballs, which is never a good thing in Cincy.
