EDDIE ANDLEMAN- Boston's Godfather of Sports radio on XM

Charley talks about the Red Sox with Eddie, who says:
  • The Red Sox are now in the real estate business, buying property around Fenway. It's become more important to them than baseball.
  • Owners feel they're playing with house money having won it all in 2004.
  • Eddie doesn't see the strength up the middle on the field that a winning team needs.
  • There's a push to get Fenway designated a national historic site. Owners will get 20% tax break on all improvements, AND will control property 200 yards out from the stadium.
  • Eddie predicted for 2 years that Theo would leave. Says he could see him with the Nationals if that thing ever gets straightened out.
  • Owners think "dumb hicks in New England will be happy" since we won on '04.
  • Eddie will go to Vegas as he does every year and bet the Red Sox to win it all.
