CF notes & Yanks look to another Braves pitcher
Today's New York Times reports "Yanks Keep Crosby in Center of their Plans," as the available prospects for center field find homes. No one has faulted Crosby's ability to catch or even throw the ball. The Times' writer mentions the probable signing of Farnsworth to the Yankees, bringing to 4 the recent
experiment of signing former Braves pitchers. Steve Karsay lead the league in relief
appearances down the stretch his first year with the Yankees, but his arm eventually
gave out. Chris Hammond and Jaret Wright followed, and possibly now Farnsworth. In a separate issue, there's a rumor about the Yanks and Cardinals talking about Jim Edmonds. No story that says, "but they want Cano and Wang" is much of a story, since everybody wants young, inexpensive, promising players.
