Eric Byrnes, the glib former Oakland A, takes the evening talk show, "Sportsphone 680," vacated by ex-Giant F.P. Santangelo, who's now the Washington Nationals' color commentator. Byrnes is a native of Half Moon Bay ...

Fear the Book: Murphy, half of the Murph and Mac show, is the author of the latest book on the champeens, "Worth the Wait."

Murphy, a former Chronicle sportswriter, calls his own work "scribblings." The book, he says, features the photos of Brad Mangin of Sports Illustrated, plus "a funky intro written by Brian Wilson.
