Yankees anticipate Jeter and Mo back in 2011, Cashman hasn't spoken to Torre since book

6/28, NY Times: "Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera will be in Yankees uniforms next year. That was the message Brian Cashman, the Yankees’ general manager, and Randy Levine, the team’s president, delivered Monday night.
  • Obviously, we don’t negotiate in public, but I would find it highly, highly unlikely if both of them are not back with the Yankees,”
  • Levine said at the TimesCenter, in response to a question about their contracts, which expire this year. ...
Despite all the hugs between Joe Torre and the Yankees this weekend in Los Angeles,
  • Cashman said he has not spoken to the team’s former manager since 2009,
  • when Torre’s book, “The Yankee Years,” was released. "...by Ken Belson
Update, NY Post, 6/29/10 on Levine and Cashman remarks: Cashman and Levine on Torre:
  • "The GM said he has not spoken with Torre since Torre's book came out. He praised the Dodgers manager professionally but said: "On a personal level, there's not much to speak to right now."
NY Post, "Levine: Jeter, Rivera will remain Yankees," by Brian Costello, 6/29/10
