New Yankee stadium built for a world that does not exist--Francesa
On WFAN today, Francesa on the new Yankee stadium says Lonn Trost built it for a different world, a world that does not exist. Having a private club is fine, but not allowing fans to walk through major parts of the stadium, eg. watching batting practice is bad. The feeling is not one that would give any home field advantage. Francesa references Bill Madden's NY Daily News column on 5/9/09, detailing the new stadium's tragedies in an open letter to his one-time professional colleague, George Steinbrenner.
- I was surprised to read in Madden's column that there is no scoreboard with scores of other teams. (sm)

Sadly, he's right. If they had built it by 1999, the stadium would have been rolling in dough.

True. And they would have had a winning team. And maybe a not so class-conscious stadium.
