Francesa on the 'Joba Festival'

Mike Francesa on WFAN today re last night's Red Sox-Yankee game says broadcasters turned it into a "Joba festival" even though he gave up 4 runs in the 1st inning and lost the game. He doesn't care how many strike outs he got later, he dug too deep a hole to overcome. Announcer said things like, "if you're just tuning in Joba is throwing so many strikeouts..." .
  • Chamberlain's celebratory fist pumps are out of line.
He didn't even have to deal with Youkilis all night. The Yankees have turned Jason Bay into Babe Ruth. Their bullpen, 9 up, 9 down-even without Papelbon.
  • The stadium used to be a great home field advantage, now is a morgue.
Francesa says it's not about who's to blame, it's about fixing it. They should go back to allowing all kids to watch batting practice for starters. A caller said he was told by security personnel that he 'wasn't properly dressed' to watch BP. Francesa couldn't explain that except to say that everyone should be allowed to watch BP as in the old stadium.
