Santana and the Mets kept injury secret til off season.

The Mets were able to keep secret that star player Johan Santana was pitching on a badly injured knee. The shock of this revelation came today from the Mets themselves--after season's end--and after his surgery. Hence the Newsday back cover. The Mets are a New York team. Without any problem they were able to maintain the integrity of their individual player and all managers AND the player's surgery without word getting out until THEY wanted it to. Not that difficult if you have the right attitude.
