'John from Westchester, a friend of WFAN' turns out to be fantastic John Sterling impersonator
On Thursday Mike Francesa opened the 3pm hour with a caller, 'John from Westchester a friend of the show,' who turned out to be a fantastic impersonator of John Sterling. And he was joined by an almost as good version of Suzyn Waldman. They've been on WFAN before as the duo but I haven't heard them in awhile. Francesa said the real John Sterling knows about the imitator and takes it in good humor. I looked on WFAN's website to see if they had a podcast of the call but so far nothing there.
- The bit interspersed classic Sterling references to Broadway tunes, his laugh, his inside talks about Yankee strategy, etc., even that he was prepping to do Columbia Football in 2 weeks. Mike was asked about Sterling doing a guest spot on his show, said Sterling had contacted his producer, but Mike didn't sound like it was about to happen. Mike likes Sterling a lot, but who knows, all the Mets people at WFAN might have a problem. I would pay money to get a tape of that show today.

That is the great Mikey from Mahopac/Sour shoes from the Howard Stern Show and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. He's brilliant and can do dozens of impersinations. So entertaining and a great listen. Go search Sour shoes there is a Wiki page with some amazing audio. I might also know someone with the bit from the other day that you requested. I saw it on YES during the Best of Mike Francesa. I hit the floor laughing..LOL!!!

That is no other than the great Mikey from Mahopac/ Sour shoes from The Howard Stern Show and SiriusXm Satellite Radio. I hit the floor when I saw that bit you requested from the other day. It was on the Yes Network Best of Mike Francesa. The other two that were with Mike that day were so out of it but Mike to his credit loved it. You can get more of this type of mind blowing entertaining radio by searching Sour shoes and finding the Wiki page with audio of his calls to Howard..LOL!!He is Brilliant!! He does dozens of impersinations..Great Radio and entertaining to the last drop.
