Headline on NY Times BatsBlog 7/3/08, "McGwire Easing His Way Back into Baseball," follows a promo I heard on an XM MLB channel on May 31 featuring a replay of a "Big Mac" homerun call:

• "NUMBER 70, HOW MUCH MORE CAN YOU GIVE US, BIG MAC!

• NUMBER 70!!!"

On 10/5/05, Darren Rovell on ESPN.com wrote about the lack of promised activity from Mark McGwire's Foundation for Children ("Big Mac's Big Promise"):

• "Sandwiched between a cluster of chain restaurants and a movie theater, in a second-floor office in a strip mall along busy Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach, Calif., is the Mark McGwire Foundation for Children.
