The Mitchell Report is a media campaign-NY Times relentless in backing up Mitchell with "love"

What is the "Yankee Era?" Supposedly 1996-2000. Most media, and here the NY Times, have without explanation joyously expanded the "Era," just so they can include Andy Pettitte, even though the words against him were 2 years after the Era (2002)--knowing no one will dare correct them. The so-called Mitchell Report's 'Media Arm' is deepening its initial condemnation- while insisting no new names be brought up- with the aid of wildly enthusiastic radio, newspaper, television and internet:
  • Tonight's NY Times Headline:
"A Baseball Lover From Queens, Key to Tarnishing a Yankee Era."... a rattling blow to the team by linking two famous Yankees — Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte...
  • How sweet. The "loving" angle is aimed by powerful billionaires to build sympathy for a drug dealer and Mitchell, whom we're supposed to collapse and accept because they "love." (Unlike Andy, his wife and 3 children). The Times uses the word "love" to convince you 2 days in a row now. Yesterday Sandomir told you the report was fine because Mitchell "loved" baseball.
THE MITCHELL REPORT IS CLEARLY NOT JUST A REPORT. IT'S A CONSTANT MEDIA CAMPAIGN TO KEEP OTHER NAMES OUT AND KEEP ANDY'S NAME IN LASER FOCUS. WHY ISN'T THIS SELECTIVE ACTION ITSELF BEING PROSECUTED?
  • I hope no one buys another ticket to a baseball game. Second, I hope Andy can get out of his contract. The Yankees should long ago have realized they're nothing but the whipping boy for this slimy group. Hank, if you're listening, the fans are dropping out of this fraud.
Headline and phrase from NY Times article by Serge F. Kovaleski (Headline may have been written by other NY Times functionary), 12/15/07.
