Newsday, Adelphi need to go back to Kindergarden and "foment" understanding re: Imus & WABC

"Others said they believed Imus' return was motivated by ABC Radio's desire for money, and that there's a certain part of the population that enjoys being shocked by Imus' humor."
  • Keith Herbert of Newsday writes this today. But ABC Radio no longer owns WABC.
Parents, students paying big bucks for "personal opinion" of Adelphi teacher:
  • "My personal opinion is that I find it incredibly troubling that a major media company would find it appropriate to hire somebody that stands for hate," said (Deborah)Little, an assistant professor of sociology and anthropology who lives in Setauket.
One would hope that the media would "raise the bar" on political discussion, and not "foment hate," she said." writes Newsday.
  • How is this woman "raising the bar" and not "fomenting hate" at what is actually a small media company, Citadel? (sm)
And finally from Newsday,
  • "Kevan Abrahams, a Nassau County legislator from Hempstead, said ABC Radio will be scrutinized for its decision to hire Imus after his "disgraceful comments.""
Again, ABC radio no longer owns the station. Pointed out on WFAN radio today by Mike Francesa and Chris Russo.
