Did Gerry Fraley write this for free?

Fraley wants to send Posada to Jeff Wilpon's living hell, says Mariano should just go somewhere else. One of the posters after his Sporting News article (10/9/07) suggested Fraley wrote the article for free. A good site, BBWAAWatchdog.blogspot.com, wrote about Fraley earlier this year and thought he might be a freelancer.
