Buck Martinez on WFAN with Mike and Chris says Rivera success due to hitters being 'tired' in October

Mike mentions the Padres' using Hoffman recently (in late inning high-stakes games) was more out of tradition. Buck Martinez does not respond about Hoffman but changes the subject to Mariano Rivera:

• "Let me say this about Trevor Hoffman. Hitters are more tired in October which is why Mo does better than Hoffman would."

Mike and Chris didn't challenge this non-answer/Mariano Rivera putdown non sequitur. If Buck is correct, wouldn't pitchers be just as tired? They're tired for Rivera and no other pitchers?

• My guess about Mike and Chris not responding to Martinez' statement, they know baseball media is a united front for Hoffman (have said so in the past on their show). Buck predicts the Indians will win the ALDS and go on to play the Red Sox.
