Larry Dobrow flatters himself

• Wow, A NEW YORK-BASED ANYTHING MUST BE A BIG DEAL, RIGHT? First, Dobrow is some freelance nobody who's on CBS Sportsline because he's a carbon copy of Scott Miller's politics. Second, ANYBODY WHO KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT NEW YORK WOULD KNOW THE WRITERS NEVER TALK UP THE GUY YOU'RE ABOUT TO BASH, MARIANO RIVERA, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MIKE LUPICA AND OCCASIONALLY JOEL SHERMAN. MOST SEEK TO ADVANCE THEIR CAREERS VIA APPROVAL OF ESPN AND/OR BUD SELIG, SO THEY AVOID PRAISING RIVERA LIKE THE PLAGUE. AND IT'S A MATTER OF RECORD THEY ALSO AVOID HIM AT AWARDS VOTING. SO DOBROW IS PASSING FALSE INFORMATION INTENDED TO PERPETUATE BIAS AND HATRED.

Sometime last year these groups added a new tool to their arsenal of putting down Mariano Rivera (in addition to swamping all media with their San Diego pal) which is to talk about the Twins and Joe Nathan. Instead of giving you facts, they just come up with false or misleading generalizations. ("Reliable," but avoids substantiation).

• Now they've added an additional weapon--Goose Gossage--likes to put down Mariano Rivera for no reason. Scott Miller loves to use him. Dobrow--brings up Gossage's name of course, but likens him to Joe Nathan. If the Gossage point is always that he threw more innings, how does that make Joe Nathan similar to Gossage where Rivera is not, even though Rivera has many years of multi-innings, entering with men on base, especially in his 112 post season contributions?

I document these campaigns because I'm not a braindead robot, and I don't like to be bullied. Now that I've pointed these facts out, you'll notice them more on your own.

• P.S. I'll stop talking about this subject if someone else, maybe Mariano Rivera's worthless agent, sees that correct information is given.
