Is the ESPN "Corrections Page" up & running yet? Get rid of the Dan Patrick Show

Nasal, whiny, irritating, utterly without redemption AND CONDESCENDING as noted by NY Daily News' Bob Raissman--This time it's in Patrick's withering bit with Andy Pettitte:

  • "Bizarre is the only way to describe Dan Patrick's Friday interview with Andy Pettitte on ESPN 1050(AM).

Patrick quickly set a condescending tone, asking Pettitte if he is "allowed" to bring up the Yankees to Roger Clemens.

  • "Am I allowed to?" A puzzled Pettitte responded.

Then, Patrick, for reasons known only to him, asked Pettitte: "Do you feel like I used you to have you on to talk about Roger Clemens? ... I will say this, that I did use you to have you on to talk about Roger Clemens."

  • Any thought Patrick was just kidding the Yankees lefty was erased when he again said - twice - that he was "using" Pettitte. Why? It's not like Pettitte isn't constantly asked about Clemens' future.

When the spot ended, Patrick said his "honest" approach with Pettitte would "probably" make this the last time the pitcher appeared on the program.

Which leads me to the following conclusion: This interview was not about Pettitte or Clemens. It was about Mr. Patrick."

  • How graceless, classless, snide. Maybe Dan Patrick is also program adviser to XM Channel 175--on the day the Yankees re-signed Andy Pettitte, they ran a breathless item in their newscast saying Pettitte's signing is overshadowed by thoughts of Clemens' future. As I said then, YANKEE FANS DO NOT CARE ABOUT ROGER CLEMENS. WE LIKE ANDY PETTITTE. YOU OBVIOUSLY ARE COMPLETELY UNINFORMED ABOUT THE NEW YORK MARKET.
In addition, as I've read in Boston media, Boston fans are much more infatuated with Clemens than Yankee fans are. Perhaps Dan Patrick was just showing his and ESPN's gaping Red Sox fandom coupled with his own stupidity. You must understand whoever signs his pay check likes him therefore showing you the extremely low grade individual in broadcasting today.
