The billionaires at MLB.com continue to fuel hatred and envy against the Yankees

Their headline is, "The Rich Get Richer in AL Gold Glove Awards," and the accompanying photo in the middle of MLB.com's web page shows, guess who, first in line on the left: Derek Jeter. As an afterthought, they include Ivan Rodriguez, who after all is a Borus client if you want to talk rich and hateful. Only 1 Yankee won, but of all the winners, 7 were repeats (hence, the stretch to 'the rich get richer' tie-in). The author of the article, JIM STREET, was distressed Jeter won over the Red Sox short stop, using only 2 stats in separate contexts as if that would be enough to persuade us of a mistake. OF COURSE, THE ARTICLE WAS NOT SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF MLB OR ITS CLUBS. MEANING, IT WAS SUBJECT TO WHATEVER THE HELL THE GUY WANTED TO SAY.
  • P.S. It's 2 days after the completely contrived and politically chopped up mess of the MLB/ESPN Clutch Awards show by Pepsi on the government/MLB channel (Disney/ESPN). Why only now are they giving it a small line of copy on their list of news items? Is there something about how the whole thing completely changed from that which originally was advertised that causes them to demur or stammer a little?
