QuesTec effect on White Sox pitchers at US Cellular
From Paul Hagen, Philadelphia Daily News:
- 1.04: Increase in the White Sox staff earned run average (3.61 to 4.65) from 2005 to this season through Wednesday. Some quietly blame the installation of QuesTec cameras at U.S. Cellular Field this year. "When it gets into every stadium, it's going to be a hitter's league," predicted struggling staff ace Mark Buehrle. "I need the corners."

I don't have a lot of sympathy here. I'm a big proponent of the strike zone being the same for everyone - in fact, I want Questec in every park. My only complaint is that the high strike isn't called enough. Give me one uniform strike zone, instead of:
- "that's his strike zone"
- "Buehrle/Glavine (insert your own veteran nibbler here) has been in the league for a while, he deserves that call..."

I agree--there must be uniformity. Funny, just heard Dibs on XM complaining about a call an umpire made just last night at Cellular. Dibs
is an admitted Mussina-hater but thought the ump killed Mussina last night in a Brian Anderson at-bat. Dibs
said an obvious strike was called a ball, & .209 hitter then got a double off Mussina which changed the outcome of the game--this is Dibs talking, & he never favors Mussina or certain other Yankees. Was the ump worried about QuesTec--don't know.
