Even the Royals are trying to spend money---they offered Paul Byrd more money than he ended up accepting in Cleveland. Tom suggests Nomar is undervalued, but that a team would best use him as a dh and part-time fielder. He's surprised there hasn't been more interest in Jeff Weaver, whom he considers better than Byrd & Loaiza, but who may be seeking too many years.
