Why not let the Pirates win?

Just wondering why Mark Cuban wouldn't be allowed to buy the Pittsburgh Pirates? He wants to win. McClatchy doesn't seem to care, even though they have a beautiful new stadium...oh, yes, isn't the All Star game going to be there in '06? They'll try to get every dime out of that before they sell or let the team win. One rumor has the Oakland A's pitching Barry Zito to Texas for Alphonso Soriano.
