Dibble on XM disses Mariano
Dibble, always desperate to find a way to diminish
Mariano Rivera, finds another way today. In an out
of context reference, he brings up that he "had come
down hard on Rivera at the beginning of the season,"
and Mariano had decided not to pitch all winter, and
had some tough outings at the start of the season. Then,
Dibble, not knowing how to make this comment relevant,
says that "teams take risks." This was all before he
got into the World Cup discussion. His intention was
to criticize Mo in some way, and blame what shortcoming
he could dig up on Mo (& saying the Yankees allowed
Mo to take the winter off). Dibs means, hey, you took
a risk, you totally flopped. Who was asking, Dibs?
