Calls the Winners

Jack O'Connell is on with Charley Steiner. Jack is secretary- treasurer of the Baseball Writers Assn., and places calls to winners of awards. Yesterday, he placed the phone calls to Huston Street and Ryan Howard. They discuss that several newspapers have recently decided not to allow their writers to vote for baseball awards, concerned that the procedure is too open to conflicts of interest. One is the LA Times. Before that, Charley spoke to Hal Bodley of USA Today.
