Baseball Writers' scandal now mainstream

USA Today ran a story yesterday detailing the fact that baseball award voting has fallen apart. I've been posting examples of this on baseball blogs for the past week. One of many issues is that there are now no voters from Atlanta, as the local writers' newspaper doesn't allow voting on baseball awards. Comment was made that this might hurt chances for Andruw Jones to win NL MVP. Ronnie Ramos, sports editor of the Atlanta Journal Constitution says this is exactly why reporters shouldn't vote. People are admitting that the local reporter would be more likely to vote for the local player.
