Yankees and Jacoby Ellsbury agree on 7 year deal, source tells Newsday's Marc Carig

"A source tells Newsday's Marc Carig that the Yankees and free agent outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury have agreed to a seven-year, $153 million deal.
Ellsbury hit .298 with nine home runs, 53 RBIs and 92 runs scored for the world champion Boston Red Sox last year. The 30-year-old also led the American League with 52 stolen bases.

The Yankees will likely lose free agent Curtis Granderson, be it to the Mets or another team, so they needed an outfielder. Brett Gardner, who played 138 games in centerfield last year, will likely move to left.

The team already made a big splash in free agency by signing catcher Brain McCann. The Yankees will introduce him at a news conference Thursday now that the catcher has passed his physical and his five-year, $85 million deal has been made official. The deal also contains a vesting option for the 2019 season.

McCann, 29, emerged as one of the top offensive catchers in the game. In nine seasons with the Braves, he hit .277 with 176 home runs. He will fill a void in the lineup left when catcher Russell Martin signed a free-agent deal with the Pirates before the 2013 season." -With Marc Carig
