July 1, 1987, WFAN went on the air with its first voice Suzyn Waldman

Suzyn Waldman and Sweeny Murti mentioned the occasion on Yankee radio post game after the Monday 6/30 game. As they were talking the clock passed midnight and it became July 1 and the 27th anniversary of WFAN sports talk radio. Suzyn Waldman was the first voice on WFAN on July 1, 1987. The station began on 1050AM and moved to 660AM in 1988. Yankees lost to Tampa Bay in 12 innings, 4-3.
