Surprise plunge in US CO2 emissions over past 20 years means MLB can stop selling CO2 terror to defenseless school children
12/7/12, "Surprise Side Effect Of Shale Gas Boom: A Plunge In U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions," Forbes, guest article by Julie M. Carey, an energy economist with Navigant Economics
"Environmental activists seem elated that the Obama administration may tackle climate change in its second term. In order to determine where [catastrophic man-caused] climate change fits into the priority ranking of our nation’s most important agenda items, it seems worthwhile to step back and take stock of the quiet but tremendous progress that the U.S. has already made in reducing carbon [dioxide] emissions, and take a few moments to understand the underlying factors that are bringing about such benefits.
In the first quarter of this year, U.S. carbon [dioxide] emissions hit a 20-year low [link seems to be inactive, try this link instead, ed.] As Figure 1 below demonstrates, the U.S. has observed substantial reductions in CO2 emissions over the last five years. These reductions contrast with the increases in CO2 emissions that the Energy Information Administration forecasted in 1998 when the U.S. was considering committing to CO2 emissions reductions in the Kyoto Agreement....The economic downturn associated with the 2008 – 2009 recession also contributed to CO2 emissions reductions. While this is not an event anyone is hoping to repeat, consideration of the state of our economy is directly relevant in the context of discussing whether or not potential climate change policy should be pursued at the present time."...graph source, EIA monthly energy review 2012, eia.gov/forecasts/archive. via Free Republic

7/1/12, MLB green programs obsolete, MLB partner NRDC says US has huge CO2 drop, leads world, MLB still sells non-existent CO2 danger to fans
==================================
US CO2 has dropped drastically without cap & trade, carbon taxes, or global 'green' treaties. "If the United States can achieve this while blowing off the panicky greens and their tiresome Malthusian agendas, so can China and India."...
No cap and trade, no huge new taxes on oil, no draconian driver restrictions, no air conditioning bans, no rationing — and the US is on track to cut its CO2 emissions 17 percent below the 2005 levels by 2020 — and to keep cutting our emissions levels beyond that.
And this news doesn’t come from embattled climate skeptics banished to the fringes of the scientific community; these numbers come from the Obama administration and are sitting right up on Don Lashof’s well respected blog at the National Resource Defense Council website. Take a look for yourselves.
So, to summarize, the United States of America basically blew the global greens off completely, trampling all over their carbon tax and cap and trade agendas, and earning wails and shrieks of hatred at the Rio+20 Summit — while making huge strides toward reducing CO2 emission levels.
It’s almost as if there is no connection between the green policy agenda and environmental progress....
And while they are at it, they might want to take another look at all those doomsday CO2 projections the green movement keeps using as justification for huge global boondoggles. It’s just possible that other countries, too, will not behave according to the models, and if that is true the whole green approach to climate issues may need to be rethought."

"Virtually everyone believes the shift could have major long-term implications for U.S. energy policy.”…

If one wanted America's ballparks to be empty, one would follow the alleged 'environmental agenda' supported by MLB including carbon offsets and selling defenseless school children the catastrophic man-caused CO2 endangerment hypothesis. We all want clean air and water and to preserve the environment but that's something different from saying humanity is on the brink of extinction due to light bulbs and single family detached homes. It's natural for elite MLB players to want to 'give back' to the community and 'do good' with their priceless aura. Perhaps unbeknownst to them, that's not what's happening when they promote catastrophic man-caused CO2 endangerment to children.

"In Colorado, pitcher Jeremy Guthrie is part of the Rockies Games of Green initiative, and he encourages fans to submit entries in his Guthrie Go-Green Classroom Challenge. Elementary, middle and high school classes are invited to present an environmental project they have done (or will do by the May 4 deadline) that will make a positive impact on the environment."

""I think it should be important for everyone to do their part and, in the grand scheme of things, do whatever you can to help in that area," said Houston outfielder Hunter Pence, an ambassador for the "Astros Play Green" campaign. "It's what provides for us. I'm very proud to be able to represent the Play Green campaign and hopefully be a role model to kids to try to do their part. Every little bit counts, and if everyone comes together, it makes a big difference.""

Not to worry, MLB, Obama is still spending billions to 'save' the climate:
Just last month, Obama took 'climate action' by giving $6 billion US taxpayer dollars to the Sultan of Brunei who owns 5000+ cars and to the Pres. of Indonesia, a country so corrupt even the World Bank says crime adds 20% to costs. Below, one of the Sultan's cars:
