Keith Hernandez' three favorite Mets
Keith Hernandez on WFAN with Steve Somers about the future of the Mets says he understands the realities of fielding a good team with a tv network in a new stadium. But if it were his choice he'd keep only 3 players from the current Mets team: David Wright, Frankie Rodriguez, and Jose Reyes. Somers following up said to him I'm sure you'd want to keep Santana, too. That may be the case, but the conversation was nearing an end, and that wasn't confirmed. On David Wright's hitting, Hernandez said he noticed a change for the worse after Wright was in the home run derby. He also noted hits to the head like Wright's concussion can hold a player back for a year or more. Somers brought up Angel Pagan losing track of the number of outs, but Hernandez said he was a good hitter and played hard.
