Just call yourself a dirt seller (not a 'respected journalist')

Bill Madden: "I hate to tell you this, Joe, but people write books like this for money and because
  • dirt sells.
Just ask your old manager and mentor, Joe Torre, whose book - may not be nearly as salacious as Roberts' A-Rod tome but is pretty embarrassing
  • to a lot of people who got thrown under the bus by
from Bill Madden's NY Daily News column, "Joe Girardi trying to re-write history with his rant on Selena Roberts' Arod book"
  • The word "rant" is not accurate to describe Girardi's comments but media try to slant things. On baseball reporters who write tell-all books, it can happen any day. So why invite people like this into private clubhouse dressing rooms? Their questions can be addressed after games in a group setting. Brian Cashman gets weak in the knees around the media but hopefully Girardi will show more respect for the team and its fans (as he started to last year) by not
  • viewing media members-and by extension their employers-
  • as vetted business partners (which they're not).
If they want to sell dirt fine, but why help them do it and describe them as "respected?" sm
