So much for the newly versatile Farnsworth--Joe Torre vindicated.

There was no reason to believe Farnsworth would be anything other than what he was--unless you fell for the PR campaign the media ran with such headlines, "MORE THAN EVER, YANKS WILL LOOK TO FARNSWORTH," NY Times, 3/7/08 (link at end of this post).
  • After bashing Joe Torre--(saying it was Torre who didn't want him coming in with runners on base rather than Farnsworth himself)--as reported by handmaidens in the media--Farnsworth gets his chance--he comes into a game in the middle of an inning with runners on base.
1st batter: 3 RUN HOMERUN INCLUDING 2 INHERITED RUNNERS.
  • THE WHOLE YANKEE ORGANIZATION BACKED YOU UP, GLOWING ARTICLES WERE WRITTEN BY USEFUL ACCOMPLICES IN THE MEDIA, THE WORLD AT YOUR FEET, FARNSWORTH, and you blew it:
(NY Times, 3/7/08): “I don’t have any Farnsworth rules,” General Manager Brian Cashman said. “That was a managerial choice. When they want to run him out there and use him, they’ll use him."
  • (NY Times): "Joe Girardi, the new manager, said he had no restrictions on how to deploy Farnsworth. If he needs him on consecutive days, or in the middle of an inning, he will call on him.

“I’m not going to be afraid to use him at any time,” Girardi said."

YOU PROVED YOU'RE THE SAME FARNSWORTH YOU'VE ALWAYS BEEN. CONGRATULATIONS TO JOE TORRE FOR PUTTING UP WITH YOU.
  • P.S. Actions speak louder than words. I'm not saying Torre was always right. I just don't like fabrications.
