Cleveland Indians
Underwood to TV, Hegan radio only The
Cleveland Indians moved Matt Underwood from the radio booth to television. Underwood, who spent seven seasons as part of the Indians' three-man radio team, will provide play-by-play on SportsTime Ohio for 138 games alongside color commentator Rick Manning.
The club's radio team will consist of Tom Hamilton and Mike Hegan. From Call of the Game.
- Then we have Underwood speaking at a "Hall of Fame" luncheon. They don't say how he could possibly have first hand knowledge of conversations on a pitcher's mound 16 years ago that did not include him. He also says vague things like, "Indians owner Larry Dolan has said" he'd spend up to $20 million more on payroll. "Has said?" Doesn't anyone ask him to vet this statement? No, that's why people get hired for big jobs with teams--they do the owner's PR.
But, at LetsgoTribe.com, Ryan said: "But please STO, whatever you do, don't subject me to Matt Underwood 138 games a year; I value my sanity."
