Bill Madden, NY Daily News, on with Charley Steiner re Torre firing story

Madden explains the background of his story predicting Torre's firing. One interesting item, he says the decision had been reached after the 3rd game, not after the 4th game. He also says groundwork had been laid to speak to Piniella, that someone representing the Yankees had "reached out to Piniella's people." Somehow, Steiner and Madden only hooked up with about a minute left in the show, so they ran out of time to discuss further details. Steiner was sorry they ran out of time and would Madden be able to come back next week to finish the story, and Madden said he'd be glad to.
