Are games starting at 9:15PM really a "gift" to the fans?--NY Post
'We always laugh when we recall Bud Selig's initial characterization of interleague play as "a gift to the fans."
Sunday's Mets-Yanks was played at night for ESPN. The game didn't start until 9:15 because of a rain delay. The Yanks, as do the Mets when they play host to the Yanks, jacked up the cost of the tickets. And before the fourth inning had ended, the Mets, down 13-4, had surrendered.
Funny, how a "gift" and a ripoff are so much alike.
Another interleague-play gift to fans is that it has rendered the All-Star Game, once pro sports' only meaningful All-Star Game, virtually meaningless.' by Phil Mushnick, NY Post
