Then closers aren't a dime a dozen?

Silly me. Tyler Kepner reports, 'With Rivera Out, Yankees Blow Lead in the 9th.' Rivera has pitched 27.1 innings so far this year, the most of the top 20 late inning relievers. 7 of his appearances have been more than 1 inning (Lyle Spencer is clearly overworked with his 'peerless' reference to his buddy getting cookies in a sleepy pitchers park with no DH & never more than 1 inning, God forbid 2 or 3 innings).

  • Farnsworth is a tomato can. NO excuse for last night. He is in love with his flat slider. Closers throw heat and use their second pitch as their out pitch. Now you know why this cluck was shuttled around.

  • You'd think someone on the staff would
straighten him out. Actually, there isn't a human being alive who could do F'worth's job. Any of the
guys who are half good only wanted to
    be closers.
