What they're saying about Contreras' injury
The White Sox press release says he has sciatica. The ESPN report says it's a pinched
nerve in his right leg. It says he feels badly it happened when he was just soft-
tossing, & the rest of both reports trumpet his recent stats leading up to
signing a $29 million contract. However, neither sciatica nor a pinched nerve happen
on a dime, out of nowhere. Sciatica is usually the result of a misalignment of bones
that happens over time, & it doesn't go away. Frequently, arthritis is involved.
