Jeff Passan Yahoo Baseball writer on XM

Jeff tried to find the story on Gyroball, an alleged Japanese pitching method. He's talked to many people including Japanese pitchers who've either said they don't throw it or they've never heard of it. Jeff thinks it's not true that players need spring training, thinks it's silly. No one asked him about the physical & mental demands of players who've played lengths of time in the post season as opposed to those who don't, particularly with regard to pitchers. I'd appreciate his opinion if he had some substantiation, but he didn't. Jeff also mentioned his view that the American League is far superior to the National League. I wonder if Jeff's a voting member of the BBWAA; he's not with a newspaper now, but was he tenured enough to retain a vote?
