Houston Astros appear to be filing insurance claim for Bagwell's inability to throw

Richard Justice goes into the history of the relationship between Jeff Bagwell & the Astros. If Bagwell wanted to reduce his price, would the Players Assn. allow him to? That would be one way to avoid this standoff. There should be other avenues than all or nothing. And, I don't mean shipping worn out players to the American League to be dh's. Teams & fans don't see themselves as charity bins, then to be assaulted for the very existence of dh's.
