Curve Ball-Jeromy Burnitz now closer to the Pirates....not the Orioles

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports Howard Simon, agent for Jeromy Burnitz, says he's now in close touch with the Pirates regarding a 2 year deal. Although specifics couldn't be disclosed, it's expected to be in the $12 million range. Not stated is why Burnitz' preliminary agreement with the Orioles fell apart. If Burnitz becomes a Pirate, who would fill the OF vacancy in Camden Yards? UPDATE: Deal has been confirmed for 1 year with an option for 2007.
