Held hostage

Rob Dibble gives an example of the sick individuals running baseball today. He sites Peter Angelos, who blackmailed MLB in the process of the Washington Nationals creation. Angelos wanted to grind as much money as he could, scared of a little competition--or just a bully--so he threatened to tell certain information about MLB personnel or activities if his demands weren't met. The Nationals were WITHOUT A TV OR RADIO DEAL UNTIL THE DAY BEFORE THE SEASON STARTED THANKS TO ANGELOS. Here is this idiot, screwing around with Comcast and whatever tv deal the Orioles own fans might hope to have. Dibble was being considered for the color announcer job for the Nationals. But, it got to be the day before the start of the season, and thanks to Angelos, there was still no radio or tv deal. Dibble and his agent couldn't wait any longer, so he took another broadcasting job.
